South Windsor Cultural Arts presents pianist Henry Kramer in concert on Sunday, October 14, 2018. The winner of the 2015 William Petschek Recital Debut Award from The Juilliard School and the Second Prize winner of the 2016 Queen Elisabeth Competition, Mr. Kramer’s performances have been praised by critics as “triumphant” and “thrilling” (The New York Times), and “technically effortless” (La Presse, Montreal).
A Maine native, Mr. Kramer has also earned top prizes in the 2015 Honens International Piano Competition, the 2011 Montreal International Music Competition, and the China Shanghai International Piano Competition. He was also a prizewinner in the 8th National Chopin Competition in Miami and received the 2014 Harvard Musical Association Arthur Foote Award.
The program will include Franz Liszt’s “Zwei Orchestersätze aus dem Oratorio Christus, S. 498b”; Claude Debussy’s “Suite Bergamasque” and “L’isle joyeuse”; and, Franz Schubert’s “Fantasy in C, D.750, Wanderer”.
The concert starts at 2:00 pm at Wood Memorial Library, 783 Main Street, South Windsor, CT. Doors are open at 1:30. Come early for best seats. The concert is FREE and donations are welcomed. This concert is sponsored by Acorn-Alcinda Foundation.
