Positively Affecting Life in South Windsor...
...where our
Community Accepts Respects Everyone
What is PALS CARE?
PALS CARE is a group of 4th and 5th grade students representing the five elementary schools in town to promote acceptance, diversity and community service within the South Windsor Community. All the projects are designed and implemented by the students with guidance from the Youth and Family Services Counselor, Jennifer Anderson.
The goals of PALS CARE are to broaden the connection between elementary age youth who attend the various schools in South Windsor and to empower them to make a difference in their community.
What do former PALS CARE members say?
"It amazed me how much a few simple people can make a huge impact on tons of lives!"
"I liked working in a group because I met a lot of people. I learned to speak up if you have anything to say and if you have a comment make sure it is respectful."
"I learned to listen to other people."
"It helped me understand how to work in groups."
"My experience was that if you work hard, you are proud of your work."
"I felt good and important because we can make a difference."
"I learned that it feels good to help other people."
As a community…
¤ we will promote constructive participation and productive citizenship in the COMMUNITY;
¤ we will embrace diversity and ACCEPT individuality;
¤ we will each demonstrate the responsibility to RESPECT self and others; and
¤ we will create a respectful, safe, ridicule-free environment where EVERYONE is responsible for his or her own behavior.
