Leaf Districts are NOT the same as Voting, School, Snow removal, or Police patrol Districts.
Please check the list on this page for your leaf district.

Leaf Collection will begin on or about October 31st~ One machine will be assigned to each District.  There will be two passes made in each District.
A last pass by vacuum equipment will begin November 16th.  The  published collection routing will be by areas and a street listing key will be available to determine the current days collection.
Neighborhoods within each District will be “canvassed” two days ahead of collection to update the Hotline and ensure vacuum equipment is sent to streets where large concentrations of leaves have been raked.
Last collection begins Wednesday, November 16th, all leaves should be raked to the curb by then.  Residents with leaves to dispose of after the 2nd pass can use bag collection or drop them off at the composting facility on Burgess Road.

DO NOT RAKE LEAVES INTO THE STREET
This is a violation of Chapter 50, Article II, Section 50-32 of the South Windsor Code of Ordinances and is punishable by fines up to $99.00.
When raking leaves to the curbside please remember not to mix in any debris, rocks, logs or construction material into the leaves and if you have ornamental plantings (displays, pots, barrels, etc.) leaves should not be raked over them as the vacuum equipment could collect all materials and possibly damage the equipment.

· Remove the container used to transport leaves.  Plastic bags can be left in the trash barrel provided.  Lawn sized paper bags are recyclable and do not need to be emptied.
