DEMING STREET WIDENING
Project Description
Deming Street east of Buckland Road is narrow and has a steep hill with poor sight lines. This is a safety concern as motorists can not see on-coming traffic well in advance and do not have a lot of road width to use to avoid a collision. There is also a lack of adequate storm drainage that results in road flooding and icing.
Project Status
Deming Street was reconstructed from Buckland Road to just east of Grandview Terrace in 2009. The road was widened to 26 feet in this area and the slope of the steep hill was reduced and the low area eliminated between Grandview Terrace and Sele Drive to improve the sight line and overall safety in this area. New Storm drainage structures and pipes were installed in this section to collect stormwater and convey it to the drainage system in Buckland Road.
