Duties & Responsibilities
The South Windsor Economic Development Commission was established in 1956 to enhance and promote new business and industry to locate in South Windsor.  We continue to be successful in competing locally as well as nationally. Our industrial/commercial business continue to be an attractive addition to South Windsor.

One of the keys to South Windsor’s success is location, location, location; as well as a classic New England life-style. We are strategically located between Boston and New York, close to Hartford and to Bradley International Airport, which is in the process of expanding, and will offer more opportunities to South Windsor as well as our neighboring communities. We are also easily accessible to I-91, I-84 and I-291. South Windsor offers a quality of life that serves the needs of our businesses, and their families for future growth.

We are a commission that has vision, creativity, planning and has the foresight to maintain our economic momentum. Our goals and vision are to continue to nurture South Windsor, to make it attractive to business, while still focusing on the retention of our existing businesses; they are the bases of our community. We also support the importance of preserving our open space.
