LEAF PROGRAM - 11/10/11
Leaf collection to resume on Tuesday, November 15th. Crews will be around in all districts where leaves have been raked out to the curb only. There will be no set street collection schedule due to the conflict with debris removal. Areas throughout town will be canvassed a day ahead of time for leaf piles that are assessable to be collected. Vacuum collection will continue until the weather or weather conditions prohibit collection. Crews will continue to make more than one pass on roads after debris collection has been completed and residents have the ability to rake to the curbside as time and weather will permit.
However residents are urged to use alternative methods of leaf disposal available since the curbside vacuum collection will be available on a very limited basis. There will be Saturday bag collections for leaves in biodegradable bags only beginning with Saturday November 19th, then Saturday December 3rd, Saturday December 10th and ending with Saturday December 17th.
The leaf drop off site on Burgess Road will remain open 7 days a week until the end of December. A reminder that you can bring leaves to the site in plastic bags but leaves in plastic bags must be removed and disposed of in trash cans provided at the drop of site.
