Street sweeping of local streets in placeSouth Windsor begins the week of March 17th weather permitting.
This winter season the use of sand and salt mix for winter snow and ice control operations was not used on Town roads with the exception of a few localized areas, therefore there will be no need to sweep or rake lawns into the street. We will continue to sweep the streets free from silt, sand and debris that accumulate on them. The elimination of sand during the winter season has contributed to less sediment in the catch basins resulting in less maintenance, cleaner storm water, and a more cost effective spring street sweeping program.
Public Works crews will begin in District 1 on or about March 17th, 2008. District 1 is bounded by placeAvery Street on the west and the placeplaceVernon placeTown line. The area includes streets in placeplaceAvery placeHeights, placeWoodland Drive area, placePine Knob Drive area, and the placePartridge Lane area. Also included is the placeDebbie Drive-Lisa Drive area.
District 2 sweeping will begin on or about March 19tH, 2008. District 2 includes the streets in the area bounded on the east by placeAvery Street and on the west by placeEllington Road (RT 74) and placeBuckland Road and includes the Orchard Hill, placeFairview Drive-Tumblebrook Drive area and the placeRimfield Drive-Carson Way area.
Sweeping in District 3 will begin on or about Friday, March 21st, 2008. District 3 includes all streets south and west of placeSullivan Avenue (RT 194) and west of placeBuckland Road and includes Pleasant Valley Estates, placeMain Street, the placeLeFoll Boulevard area, and the Quarry Brook area.
Sweeping in District 4 will begin the week of March 26th, 2008. District 4 is the area north of placeSullivan Avenue (RT 194) and west of placeEllington Road (RT 30) and includes Farnham Estates, Morgan Farms, Sunset Terrace and the placeWindshire Drive - placeAbbe Road area.
